Recent Updates

12 February 2017
A pre-Valentine's update that is somewhat short on romance but long on some forgettable goalkeeper debuts included the international who shipped ten - yes, ten - on his one and so far only appearance for his country. There are also a couple of goalies who saved a penalty on their first start, the keeper who caused the TV highlights from a league game to be shelved, an award-winning documentary film maker and a rash of quirky injuries that will make you wonder just how some goalkeepers make it onto the pitch in one place.

There's also a selection of goalkeeping debuts - good, bad and quirky - some personal titbits and the rise of the multicoloured goalkeeper top in England as a result of changes to referee kits.

Former President of Bolivia Jaime Paz Zamora is guest of honour in the latest, and long overdue, update. He is joined by two superstitious Spanish international goalkeepers and an Irishman who decided to run for government after hanging up his goalkeeping gloves. There's also some more goalscoring goalkeepers and a couple of tales of broken goalposts and malfunctioning nets including a malfunction two minutes from time that proved costly for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
